The DRR Team to Myanmar, with HKV team leader Marco Hartman, HKV team member Carolien Wegman and members of Arcadis, Deltares and Royal HaskoningDHV, started last week their mission with a visit to Bilin and Hpa-an. The mission aimed to support the authorities in mitigating the impact of notorious flooding in the area.
Wednesday the DRR Team visited the Chief Minister of Mon State in Mawlamyine. After that they made a field visit to the Ataran River. Thursday the DRR Team visited Ye Town to discuss the recent flooding there. Saturday morning the DRR Team to Myanmar presented their findings and recommendations to representatives from institutes responsible for flood risk management.
