In recent years, HKV has provided remote technical support in Dutch Surge Support/Dutch Risk reduction activities, where the Dutch government offers help to countries that face threatening situations or were hit by natural disasters. Our remote technical activities included mapping and interpretation of flood or landslide hazard zones, rapid assessments of flood vulnerabilities and potential risks of dam failures. The technical support focused on providing useful information to local governments and onsite humanitarian missions. Countries included Mozambique (2019), Yemen (2020) and Guatemala (2020).
